 FEC - Forward Error Correction

Many times – especially when using public networks - like the Internet - IP packets may be lost due to different causes, such as routers discarding damaged packages, overload situation or different routing of different packages of the same stream – which may cause high latency and subsequently package loss.

Different to other FEC schemes, MAYAH's Pro MPEG FEC implementation attempts to recreate the entire lost IP packet. It allows flexible settings in terms of redundancy and performance. Quad Video Transcode

The IOCAST video codec serie of MAYAH offers transcoding with the model 5104. It can efficiently transcode up to 4 SD MPEG 2 streams into MPEG 4 streams or 4 SD MPEG 4 streams into MPEG 2 streams.
